Overview
The 16-bit PIC serial bootloader is a firmware located in the non-volatile memory of a microcontroller unit (MCU or DSC) that allows in-circuit reprogramming of the device using its standard serial communication ports. The 16-bit PIC serial bootloader works for all 16-bit MCU/DSC Microchip devices (PIC24F, PIC24H, dsPIC30F and dsPIC33F), and has been widely tested with the communications module iCM4011. The package includes the firmware programming for the desired 16-bit MCU or DSC and a proprietary graphical user interface (GUI) based on Windows OS.

Automatic communication speed detection (baud rate): The bootloader has the ability to adjust its own baud rate to the one used by the sender by means of a synchronization protocol.
Possibility of read and write program (FLASH): The bootloader is able to access and modify the entire non-volatile memory dedicated to program code.
Possibility of read and write EEPROM memory: The bootloader is able to access and modify the entire non-volatile memory dedicated to data.
Possibility of read and write configuration registers: The bootloader is able to access and modify the MCU or DSC configuration registers.
Optimized assembler code: The firmware is implemented by optimizing the processor resources used.
Checksum operation at the end of programming process.
GUI for Windows OS, which enables a fast and friendly interaction with the firmware bootloader.
